The OBI Creative Story

OBI Creative is an ad agency hard-wired for innovation. We know the rules of marketing inside and out, because we're always looking to rewrite them. We've never been in the position to outspend the competition, but we out-think them every chance we get.

Maybe it's because we cut our teeth in the ad business by riding the two biggest waves of innovation in the '90s - the personal computer and the dot-com.

The company grew out of a special project for Gateway Computers in 2002, when we helped develop a first-gen Digital Home product line and engineered the national sales strategy. Shortly thereafter, Intel and HP hired us to do a Digital Home road show in shopping malls across America.

OBI Creative went on to win Agency-of-Record for Gateway and produced the "Ask & Deliver" consumer ad campaign that pioneered experiential marketing, user-generated content and social media before any of those terms became buzzwords. Keeping our finger on the pulse of technology, new media, and the green economy, our clients have included D-Link, Vizio, View Sonic, Prima Fuel and Free Green Can.

Though the OBI team hails from a variety of backgrounds and geographical regions, we've put down roots in Omaha. We are proud to count the Omaha Chamber, SAC Federal Credit Union, Miller Electric and a number of other local businesses as clients and we are committed to the economic development of Omaha and Nebraska.

OPPORTUNITY

This is a client-facing opportunity at a growing marketing strategy company. The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for the overall health and growth of client, partner and vendor relationships. This is done in close coordination with the team by ensuring client objectives are communicated clearly and viable solutions are defined. A successful OBI AM is a hardworking, ambitious team player who loves the independence and creativity of a start-up environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify new opportunities within existing or new clients
  • Ensure clients needs are met within OBI success parameters
  • Document client business requirements and communicate expectations clearly to OBI team members
  • Develop, negotiate and reconcile client estimates and contracts
  • Set up and maintain account documentation with PM and finance, as defined by OBI management
  • Approve all deliverables prior to being viewed by clients, ensuring agreed requirements are met
  • Act as client contact and team liaison for escalated project issues or questions needing resolution
  • Ensure high standard of service to clients by monitoring agreed criteria and leading quarterly reviews
  • Responsible for advance planning and accurate forecasting with clients in order to prepare OBI team for upcoming campaigns
  • Owner of client profitability, responsible for monitoring and reconciling project budgets and expenditures per each contract, along with finance and traffic departments
  • Owner of client relationship, ensuring history and campaigns are documented and available for further use across the company
  • Leader on client industry, products, strategic challenges and goals, providing support in development of client objectives and OBI team understanding
  • Provide management input for improved AM and OBI operations, consistent with company goals
  • Semi-frequent business travel to client and OBI engagements, as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years experience in marketing
  • 2+ years managing clients successfully
  • Strong client relationship skills, with ability to strategize, negotiate and resolve account issues
  • Ability to get client needs met while ensuring quality and OBI profitability goals are also met
  • Responsible self-starter who can both lead a team and be a good team member
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong computer and MS Office skills

Father’s Day Promotion

Farewell to Rosenblatt

The Father’s Day promotion was the first promotion for the Nighthawks and introduced the campaign to the community. The Farewell to Rosenblatt spot was created to bring awareness to the fact that the Nighthawks will be the last professional team to play in Omaha’s Rosenblatt Stadium. It’s a tribute to the past and a look towards the future.

We will be adding additional spots for the Nighthawks in the near future!
