Meet OBI Creative’s Newest Account Manager – Olivia Ruhlman

Olivia Ruhlman is always up for a challenge, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone close to her to know that she became OBI Creative’s newest Account Manager this August.

Growing up in a family of five with two sisters and a huge extended family (17 aunts and uncles) has made Olivia a competitor at heart. At home, that’s turned every Christmas into a late night Risk tournament with gameplay continuing between Olivia and her father into the wee hours of the morning.

“We’d rather take a chance on sleep deprivation than lose,” Olivia says.

That may explain why we often see Olivia with an Americano or iced coffee (black, of course) in hand.

A position as an Account Coordinator with OBI Creative was Olivia’s first job out of college, arriving well-versed in numerous aspects of the ad industry. This 2014 University of Nebraska – Lincoln grad majored in Advertising/PR; while there she served as a Copywriter and Account Manager for UNL’s student-run ad agency, the Jacht Club Ad Lab; interned in studio art at GSDM in Austin, Texas; and worked as a Marketing/PR Manager for Brier and Moss – a bow tie company in Marietta, Georgia.

Olivia loves working hard and winning big for clients. When asked what she enjoys most about her new role, she says it’s the added responsibility and increased contact with clients. “I love being able to work more closely with clients,” she says. “I really value the ability to form individual and unique relationships with my clients and their brands.”

That attention to client satisfaction hasn’t gone unnoticed by the leadership team at OBI.

“Olivia has made significant contributions and grown in her responsibilities during her tenure with OBI,” says Kevin Hutchison, VP Client Services and Business Development for OBI Creative. “She has demonstrated her dedication and commitment to teamwork on accounts such as Bridges Investment Management, Morningside College, Borsheims, SAC Federal Credit Union, First National Bank, Lauritzen Gardens and more. She’s always willing to jump into the game.”

Maybe all those late night Risk sessions help hone that competitive spirit that keeps Olivia at the top of her game.

Next challenge up on Olivia’s docket? Find time to get that puppy she’s always wanted. (That’s Olivia with her family dog, Gus, in the photo at the top.)
