OBI Creative wins Best of Omaha and six PRSA Paper Anvil Awards

The Omaha-based agency rakes in more honors to cap a successful 2017.

OMAHA, (Neb.) OBI Creative, a full-service ad agency, wrapped up an award-winning 2017, recently receiving six PRSA Nebraska Paper Anvil Awards and a Best of Omaha award. These awards both speak to the research- and results-driven culture of OBI.

OBI won three awards of excellence, which is the highest honor at the PRSA Awards aside from ‘best in show’, earning the top award for its campaign with Nebraska Casa Association in two categories – Community Relations: Associations/Nonprofit Organizations and Public Service: Associations/Nonprofit Organizations. OBI’s other award of excellence was for its work with Pottawattamie Arts, Culture and Entertainment (PACE) on the PACE news conference in the Events (Seven or fewer days): Associations/Nonprofit Organizations category.

Three other awards of merit were given to OBI for its work with the Associated Beverage Distributors of Nebraska for an awareness campaign in Public Affairs: Associations/Nonprofit Organizations category; Habitat for Humanity of Omaha for its 2016 annual report in the Community Relations: Associations/Nonprofit Organizations category; and The Best of Omaha campaign for the Events (more than seven days): Business category.

The PRSA awards rely heavily on setting goals, objectives and results to determine award winners. As a research-driven, results-based marketing, advertising and public relations company, these awards resonate with OBI founder and CEO, Mary Ann O’Brien.

“We don’t do creative for creative’s sake,” O’Brien said. “Our creative is rooted in and driven by customer research and marketing strategy that produces outstanding results for our clients.”

The award ceremony was held Wednesday, December 6, 2017.

The Best of Omaha campaign was also a success for the agency. OBI earned a first place spot in the Best of Omaha 2018 category “Employer – Fewer than 100 employees.” For the past two years, OBI has inched its way up from third place in 2016 and second place in 2015.

“It’s been an exciting year at OBI,” said O’Brien. “In May, we announced our upcoming move to the Millard Lumberyard District in 2018 and we acquired a digital agency, Alt Studios in Des Moines, rebranding it as OBI Creative. We are a team of high-performing, smart, committed marketers, and our work speaks for itself.”
