Bleed red, drink blue.

Quality Brands, a family-owned and -operated beverage distributor in Nebraska, had been witnessing a sharp decline in Bud Light’s popularity amongst millennials. So they turned to OBI to help make Bud Light cool again (throughout Omaha/Lincoln). We pitched a Nebraska Husker football campaign deemed Bowl Thirsty to do just that. Since Nebraskans always thirst for a bowl game (it’s been too long) and love tailgates, a bowl game contest was the crux of the campaign. Fans were encouraged to sign up for their chance to win tickets and accommodations. Optimistic? Heck yes. But that’s what it means to be a Husker fan. We penned catchy lines that appeared in outdoor and social, using the Bud Light cans as a focal point, and created T-shirts, coasters and koozies too. Then we crossed our fingers and toes…

Sadly, the Huskers did not clinch a 2019 bowl game, but campaign engagement was extremely high, generating more than 1,700 contest entries. And Bud Light sales are up! Cheers to next season.
